SCQA

SCQA (Situation, Complication, Question, Answer) is a framework for structured communication that helps present information clearly and persuasively.

Components

An annotated memo sets a weekly review process as the situation, between-meeting urgent requests as the complication, asks how to respond without interrupting everyone, and recommends a rotating triage owner with escalation rules.
Conceptual SCQA specimen: the complication creates a question that the recommendation directly answers. The operational scenario is hypothetical. Original diagram based on Barbara Minto, The Minto Pyramid Principle and SCQ Framework.

Usage

Used for clear and effective communication. Particularly useful for presentations, proposals, and executive briefings.
