GTD

Getting Things Done (GTD) is a systematic approach to organizing tasks, projects, and commitments to achieve stress-free productivity.

Core Principles

  1. Capture everything that has your attention
  2. Clarify what each item means
  3. Organize into appropriate categories
  4. Review regularly
  5. Take action on what's important

Components

1. Capture

2. Clarify

A captured item is checked for actionability. Non-actionable items are discarded, kept as reference, or held for later. Actionable items receive a visible next action and, when multistep, a project. Both paths feed organized reminders and review.
Conceptual clarification tree. A project describes an outcome requiring several actions; the next-action reminder identifies the visible step you can take now. Original diagram based on David Allen Company, What is GTD?.

3. Organize

4. Reflect

5. Engage

Usage

Used for managing personal and professional tasks, reducing mental load, and increasing productivity. Provides a complete system for capturing and processing all commitments.
